All religions emphasises harmonious relationship between human and nature


The cult of nature worship which is the part and parcel of Hindu religion was responsible for creating feeling of love for environment and ecology. In Goa, Hindu worships various types of trees, animals. But, today, this tradition deeply rooted in environment gradually fibbing away. There is need to revive this tradition and plant the strategy for the protection of environment and ecology of Goa, said environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar.

The teachings of all religions in India has emphasised the harmonious relationship between human and nature. But today the materialistic attitudes of the mankind has surpassed the human values and marching towards the unholistic development. This was highlighted by the speakers representing the Hindu, the Muslim and the Roman Catholic religions at Community Hall, Bhironda in Sattari on the eve of the Republic day.

Rev. Fr. Hillario Fernandes associated with the Pilar Society who has done the study of the Hindu Holy Scriptures entitled ‘Narad Bhakti Sutra’ at Pune University said, “All religious aims for the enrichment of the human beings and Salvation should work on the priority basis for protecting Goa’s environment and ecology. Illegal mining garbage, poverty and various forces which are causing the environmental degradation should be curtailed. We have to respect all the creatures of the God and have to make judicious use of the natural resources around us.”

Maulana Akhtar Hasmi from Valpoi said, “Islam has always given importance to the human values and has urged the followers to live in harmony, peace and love. Even after achieving immense progress in the fields of science and technology, human life today iss not safe and secure.”

Vishwesh Parab, the social activist from Valpoi told, “By organising the multi-religious meet from last six years, father Domnic Alvares, the mission incharge has helped in building the faith and confidence among the various communities for living in harmony in Sattari which is inspiring deed.”

Fr. Inacio Almeida from Bhironda has urged to protect the lifeline of Sattari the river Mhadei and undertake the plantation of the indigenous species of trees.

Maulavi Bashir Muhmad, the member of Bhironda Village Panchayat Mahanand Rane and Villagers from surrounding areas was present at Bhironda.
